Best For: High APY Interest Rates
Western Alliance Bank was founded in 1994, has over $80 billion in assets and is consistently ranked among the top banks.
They were ranked #1 Top-Performing Large Bank with Assets $50 billion and Above in 2021, 2022, & 2023 by American Banker. They were ranked again by American Banker and Bank Director as a top U.S. bank in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
Western Alliance Bank offers 3.80% APY exclusively through the Raisin Platform.
This APY is substantially higher than what you’ll find at most brick-and-mortar banks and even most online banks.
In addition to this high APY, Western Alliance offers $0 monthly maintenance fees, unlimited withdrawals, and is insured by the FDIC for up to $250,000 per depositor.
U.S. based customer service is available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET Monday - Friday. You'll have online access to your funds 24/7.
See Raisin's Secure Site for Western Alliance Bank For More Details.
What is Raisin & Why Does it Matter?
Raisin is a central dashboard for opening and managing savings products from a network of federally insured banks and credit unions—often with rates you won’t find by going direct.
You can open accounts, view balances, and access documents in one place, but Raisin doesn’t hold your money: deposits sit at the partner institution (like Western Alliance Bank, Member FDIC) and are typically eligible for FDIC/NCUA insurance up to $250,000 per depositor.
Main Benefits You Get with the Western Alliance Bank High-Yield Savings Account via Raisin
Competitive APY:
When opened through Raisin, the Western Alliance Bank High-Yield Savings Account currently offers 3.80% APY
This level of yield is significantly higher than the national average for savings accounts.
Ultra-Low Minimum to Open:
With Raisin, you can open the account starting with just $1 minimum deposit.
That makes this product accessible to savers of modest means, and helps you start compounding faster.
No Monthly Maintenance Fee:
This account carries no monthly maintenance fees when opened via Raisin. That means your full APY-earning balance works for you, not eaten by fees.
FDIC-Insured Backing:
Although you open via Raisin, the deposits are held at Western Alliance Bank (Member FDIC), and therefore eligible for FDIC deposit insurance up to applicable limits (generally $250,000 per depositor, per ownership category).
How to Open the Account via Raisin
Opening the account:
-
Go to Raisin’s secure site for Western Alliance Bank’s High-Yield Savings Account.
-
You’ll need to provide standard identity details (SSN, U.S. address, etc) as part of KYC processes. (Know Your Customer)
-
Choose the Western Alliance Bank offer via Raisin and complete the online application.
Funding your account:
-
Link an existing external bank checking or savings account.
-
Make your initial deposit (as low as $1) into the new account via Raisin’s platform.
-
The funds will settle per Raisin’s routing/ACH timelines.
Withdrawing your money:
-
At any time, you can initiate an online transfer via the Raisin / Western Alliance interface back to your linked external bank account.
-
Note: Because this is ACH-based, withdrawals may take business days to settle—so this is best for savings you don’t need instant access to.
Compound interest & crediting:
-
The account accrues interest daily and credits interest monthly (standard for many HYSAs).
-
Rate is variable and may change at the institution’s discretion (so monitor rate updates).
Debit card or checks?
-
No debit card or checkbook is provided for this savings product via Raisin; access is via online portal and linked external account.
-
If you need ATM access or checks, you’ll want a different product.
Who This Account Is Best For
-
Savers who want to park cash and maximize yield rather than everyday spending.
-
Individuals who already have a checking account at another bank and are comfortable with external transfer workflows.
-
People who appreciate a low barrier to entry ($1) and access to bonus incentives.
-
Those willing to treat this as a “set-and-forget” savings vehicle rather than transactional.
