Controlling Privacy and Tracking Clarifications
Effective September 5, 2026, the following disclosures supplement our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. To the extent either policy contains an inconsistent description of identity matching, targeted advertising, vendor roles, Do Not Track, or Global Privacy Control, the disclosures below control.
Identity matching. Automatically collected information—including browser or device identifiers, IP addresses and website-visit information—may be combined with information from other sources. Retention.com or its data partners may use this information to associate a website visit with an email address, even when the visitor did not enter that email address on CompareAccounts.
Marketing use. Where permitted by applicable law, we may add eligible matched email addresses to a separate CompareAccounts marketing or recovery audience or contact list and use them to send marketing emails about our content and offers. Being added to this audience does not mean the individual subscribed to our newsletter. Recipients may unsubscribe using the link in each marketing email and may exercise applicable privacy rights through the privacy-choice controls on our website. You may opt out of receiving this advertising by visiting https://app.retention.com/optout.
Service providers and other partners. Some vendors process personal information on our behalf under applicable contractual restrictions. Other partners, including certain advertising and identity-resolution providers, may process information for their own purposes as described in this notice and their privacy policies. Not every vendor is restricted from all independent processing or all disclosures to approved subprocessors.
Cookies and similar technologies. Contrary to any general statement in our Cookie Policy suggesting that advertising technologies cannot identify contact information unless the visitor provides it, certain identity-resolution technologies may associate browser or visit information with an email address obtained from another source.
DNT and GPC. We do not respond to the legacy Do Not Track browser setting. Where required by applicable law, we recognize Global Privacy Control and other qualifying opt-out preference signals as requests to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and targeted advertising.
